QNET, a global wellness and lifestyle company, has launched an initiative called "QNET Against Scams" to combat the fraudulent use of its name. The initiative, which has already been implemented in Ghana, aims to raise awareness among the public and encourage the reporting of suspicious cases. According to Chérif Sarr, QNET's regional director for Central and West Africa, the company's name is often used by individuals to propose fake business opportunities, jobs, or financial gains.
The "QNET Against Scams" initiative has already yielded positive results in Ghana, where it was first implemented. In partnership with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), QNET has set up a WhatsApp channel for people to report suspicious activities. This has led to the arrest of 161 criminals in just one year. Sarr emphasized that vigilance must remain high, as scammers are constantly finding new ways to deceive people.
QNET plans to extend the "QNET Against Scams" initiative to French-speaking countries, including Benin, Togo, and Senegal. In Benin, the company aims to collaborate with competent institutions to launch awareness campaigns and share information to help people recognize signs of fraudulent recruitment and the misuse of its name.
In addition to combating online scams, QNET is also opening physical spaces to present its activities and products. The company plans to open an "Experience Center" in Togo, where consumers, authorities, and the public can learn about QNET's products and business model. Similar centers are already operational in Ghana and Nigeria.
Sarr advises people to be cautious when approached with business opportunities that seem too good to be true. He recommends verifying information on QNET's official website and using the company's WhatsApp platform to check the identity of individuals claiming to represent QNET. The company also emphasizes that it does not offer jobs or promise quick returns.
QNET's activities are focused on selling a wide range of exclusive products that promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The company's business model is based on direct sales, and its products include luxury watches and jewelry, household cleaning products, and wellness and personal care products.
QNET is a member of several industry associations and is involved in international sports sponsorships, including its partnership with the Manchester City Football Club and the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The company aims to continue raising awareness about its brand and products while combating fraudulent activities that use its name.
