The World Green Economy Summit (WGES) is set to convene its 12th edition on October 21-22, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the summit is organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO). This year's theme is "From Success to Scalable Impact: Leveraging the Green Economy".

The summit will bring together 135 renowned speakers, including ministers, business leaders, government officials, policymakers, experts, and innovators from around the world. They will share experiences and knowledge to explore ways to accelerate the deployment and scaling up of successful initiatives and models to support the transition to a green economy. The discussions will focus on successful initiatives and models, aiming to find ways to accelerate their deployment and scaling up.

S.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice President of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, emphasized the importance of the summit as a platform for international leaders, policymakers, and experts to shape the future of the green economy sectors. He highlighted the diversity of expertise gathered, which gives the summit discussions a concrete and practical dimension.

The summit's program reflects the diversity of topics addressed this year, focusing on four major pillars: energy technologies and infrastructure, business strategies and transition, water and food security, and finance. Discussions will also address three cross-cutting themes: artificial intelligence, governance, and systemic change factors, including supply chains and the circular economy.

These themes provide a framework for advancing the green transition through technology, investment, policies, resource resilience, and the evolution of economic systems. The summit aims to transform knowledge and expertise into partnerships and initiatives that can produce tangible and lasting impact. Al Tayer added that the current stage calls for accelerating the implementation of ambitions and transforming successful experiences into scalable and reproducible models.

The World Green Economy Summit has established itself as a privileged platform for dialogue, rapprochement, and cooperation between governments, the private sector, investors, international organizations, and innovators. This approach enables the transformation of knowledge and expertise into partnerships and initiatives capable of generating a broader impact. The summit's discussions will provide a framework for making progress towards a green economy.

The Zayed Sustainability Prize recently announced its 2027 finalists, and the Doha Debates Podcast has returned for a new season, highlighting the growing focus on sustainability and environmental issues in the region. The World Green Economy Summit 2026 is expected to build on this momentum, providing a platform for leaders and experts to share knowledge and drive action towards a more sustainable future.
