The Groupement central des armées has officially welcomed 101 new students to the Prytanée Militaire de Kadiogo (PMK) in Burkina Faso. The ceremony, which took place on October 29, 2026, was presided over by Colonel Bapio Narcisse Bassinga, commander of the Groupement central des armées. The new students, comprising 67 boys and 34 girls, are part of the 35th promotion, baptized "GONDAL," a term in fulfuldé that signifies cohesion.

The 35th promotion includes 79 Burkinabè students and 22 from ten other countries, namely Benin, Togo, Mali, Senegal, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Guinea, Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, and Chad. These students were previously selected in 6th grade and have now officially joined the PMK. The ceremony marked the beginning of their journey at the military school, where they will be instilled with values of discipline, courage, and perseverance.

The new students were encouraged by the PMK commander, Battalion Chief Bénéba Serge Lengané, to embody the values that the nation expects from them. He reminded them that the nation not only expects them to be good students but also to become its best servants in the future. This message aligns with the school's motto, "S'instruire pour mieux servir" (To educate oneself to serve better).

The integration ceremony of the 35th promotion, "GONDAL," signifies the start of a new chapter for these students, who will undergo training and education at the PMK. The school aims to provide a holistic education that combines academic rigor with military discipline and values. By fostering a sense of cohesion and camaraderie among the students, the school seeks to prepare them for future leadership roles.

The students of the 35th promotion are under the mentorship of their seniors from the 2006 promotion. This mentorship is expected to play a crucial role in guiding them through their journey at the PMK. With a focus on discipline, academic excellence, and service to the nation, the students are set to embark on a transformative experience that will shape their future.

The Prytanée Militaire de Kadiogo is an institution that has been instrumental in shaping the lives of young individuals in Burkina Faso and beyond. By providing a unique blend of academic and military education, the school aims to produce well-rounded individuals who are equipped to serve their nation. The integration of the 35th promotion is a testament to the school's ongoing commitment to this mission.

As the new students begin their journey at the PMK, they are expected to uphold the values of cohesion, honor, and service to the nation. With a strong foundation in academics and military discipline, they will be prepared to take on leadership roles and make a positive impact in their communities.
