The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued a public notice reminding taxpayers of upcoming deadlines for submitting returns and making payments. According to Statutory Instrument 81 of 2025, returns for the month ending October 31, 2026, must be filed on or before November 5, 2026. This notice, published on October 27, 2026, applies to all taxpayers, including those required to submit Gaming Operators' Tax and Presumptive Tax on Rental Income returns.
Taxpayers are required to submit their returns online via the Self-Service Portal (SSP) at mytaxselfservice.zimra.co.zw. This includes employers who must submit the long PAYE return on the TaRMS platform, in accordance with Public Notice No. 05 of 2025, issued on February 3, 2025. The ZIMRA website provides the menu path for uploading the long return. Payments of taxes are still made through the Single Account System.
Mining royalties are payable in cash and in kind, using the Withholding Taxes Return to declare them. Taxpayers can make payments into the ZIMRA Bank Account by cash deposit or bank transfer through their linked bank accounts. The bank validates the payment before posting the transaction, using the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) as a crucial parameter.
When making a payment, taxpayers do not need to indicate the tax obligation being settled, but must provide their TIN and name. The bank validates the TIN through its integration with TaRMS, and the transaction is then credited to the ZIMRA Bank Account. Funds in the ZIMRA Bank Account require a tax return before the payment is recognised and posted to the taxpayer's ledger in TaRMS.
Taxpayers who have outstanding returns are encouraged to submit them, and those behind on their tax obligations must pay overdue amounts to prevent legal action. ZIMRA emphasises that all taxpayers must submit their returns and make payments in full on or before the due dates to avoid penalties and prosecution.
ZIMRA provides various contact channels for taxpayers, including a toll-free line (585), WhatsApp (0717 585 585), email ([email protected]), and website (www.zimra.co.zw). The authority urges taxpayers to comply with the regulations to ensure smooth processing of tax returns and payments.
The public notice, numbered 61 of 2026, was published by ZIMRA on October 27, 2026, as a reminder to taxpayers of their obligations. Failure to comply with the deadlines and regulations may result in penalties and prosecution, emphasising the importance of timely submission of returns and payments.
