The 2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League has come to a close with MFM Women Basketball team emerging as champions. The team won their third title in four years after a thrilling final match against First Bank, which ended in a 66-64 points win after overtime. The champions took home a prize money of N7.5 million for their efforts. The final match was attended by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr. Adaora Umeoji, represented by Executive Director Adamu Lawani.

The third-place match of the league was played between Nigeria Customs and Aso Sky Queens, with Nigeria Customs emerging as winners. The team defeated Aso Sky Queens with a score of 51-38 points, taking home the bronze medal and a prize money of N3 million. Apart from the teams, individual award winners also received money prizes. The Most Valuable Player of the tournament, Ioumabo Pius of MFM, received the highest prize money of N2 million.
Ioumabo Pius, the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, was rewarded by Zenith Bank for her outstanding performance. She was part of the Tournament Top 5 and received a sum of N500,000 from the bank. She also received another N500,000 from the bank for winning the MVP title, and an additional N500,000 each from Dam Foundations and Xejet, making it a total of N2 million.
Other teams that participated in the league also received prize money for their efforts. The second-place team, First Bank, received N5 million, while the third-place team, Nigeria Customs, received N3 million. The prize money was awarded by Zenith Bank Plc, which has been a sponsor of the league for 20 years.
