The Zamfara State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has conducted a post-campaign review of the recently concluded vaccination campaign in the state. Dr. Murtala Salahudeen, Incident Manager at the Polio Emergency Operations Centre, praised the LGA teams for their dedication and commitment, particularly their achievement of above 95 per cent settlement coverage in areas covered by the recently concluded IBRA Round 2 campaign. He noted that this achievement demonstrated the importance of strong grassroots mobilisation and effective coordination among health workers and other stakeholders.
Salahudeen urged the LGA teams to strengthen their efforts, particularly in reaching underserved, hard-to-reach, and security-compromised communities. He emphasized that sustained efforts are necessary to ensure that no eligible population is left behind in future vaccination campaigns. The teams were encouraged to identify strategies for improving future health interventions across Zamfara State.
