Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has challenged political office holders who feel they have not benefited from his administration to consider resigning. This statement was made during a stakeholders' meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Government House in Gusau on Saturday. The governor's comments come in response to complaints from various stakeholders, including political appointees, youths, and women, who alleged a lack of welfare under the current administration.

Governor Lawal explained that his administration has prioritized the delivery of basic infrastructure and projects across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for the long-term benefit of the people. He cited that over N20 billion worth of infrastructure has been completed and distributed across the 14 local government areas in the past three years. This, according to him, is a significant achievement, showcasing the administration's commitment to development.

The governor acknowledged that his administration had made a mistake by not publicly disclosing the names of those who have been awarded contracts. He promised that this information would soon be made public. Lawal also highlighted the contributions of key party stakeholders, including Reps Abdulmalik Zannah, Ahmadu Mai-Palace, Aminu Jaji, and Bello Hassan, who have provided various empowerment items for the people and youths of the state.

Governor Lawal announced that his administration would shift its focus from governance to party politics after three years of providing infrastructure and restoring relative peace. He emphasized that it is time for the party to return to politics, as its time has come. The governor also appealed to APC loyalists to unite, stressing the need for a unified party with a common vision.

During the meeting, Governor Lawal disclosed that over 3,000 youths have been trained in various skills by the administration. Additionally, transport fares have been provided, and graduates are being supported to become self-reliant, with a monthly list of beneficiaries being maintained. This, according to him, is part of the administration's efforts to empower the youths and promote self-sufficiency.

The governor announced plans to meet with former governors, including Ahmad Yarima, Mamuda Shinkafi, Abdulaziz Yari, and Bello Matawalle, in Abuja to harmonize and compile the list of those who will lead the APC Campaign Council in Zamfara. He assured that everyone is important and will be considered, even if they do not see their name on the initial list.

Governor Lawal concluded by assuring that he has taken note of all complaints raised during the meeting and promised to come up with plans to ensure everyone benefits. He appealed for patience, urging stakeholders to trust in the administration's ability to address their concerns. The governor's statement has been seen as a move to address the concerns of his appointees and party stakeholders.
