A young man from Croftdene, Ethan Cole Krishna, was tragically killed just days before his 26th birthday. His family described him as a kind-hearted and compassionate person who always put others first. Ethan's parents, Sharon and Rakesh Krishna, spoke to the Mid South Coast Mail/Mid South Coast Rising Sun about their son, recalling his love for helping others and his happy-go-lucky personality.

According to his parents, Ethan left home on Tuesday evening, September 29, at around 10 pm, and was last seen walking down the road. His mother, Sharon, had a brief interaction with him when he asked for an OTP number, which turned out to be their last conversation. The family reported him missing when they didn't hear from him on Wednesday morning. A missing person's case was opened, and an investigation was launched.

The search for Ethan led to the Renegade Search and Rescue team getting involved. Dawn Gounden of the team said Ethan was last seen in the vicinity of South Coast Road at around 1 pm on Tuesday and had last communicated with friends at around 1 am on Wednesday. A body was found along Nerissa Road, Bluff, on Wednesday morning, and the family confirmed it was Ethan after police contacted them.

The police have opened a murder investigation and are urging the public to cooperate. Gounden warned that speculation and attempts by the public to investigate the case themselves could obstruct the investigation and add to the family's distress. The family has asked the public not to name or identify anyone as a person of interest and to trust the police to establish what happened and bring those responsible to justice.

The community has rallied around Ethan's family, with many attending his funeral on Saturday. Gounden and Ethan's parents noted that the large turnout was a testament to the impact he had on those around him. The funeral drew a large number of friends, young and old, showcasing the relationships he had built within his community.

Ethan's love for children was evident at his funeral, where even a two-year-old child cried for him. His dad recalled how Ethan adored children and was known for spoiling them with sweets and chocolates. Ethan enjoyed entertaining his friends, preparing teas and coffees for them, and was an avid Manchester United fan and soccer player.

The community will remember Ethan for his kindness, generosity, and friendship. His family will hold a community event in his honor, where his friends will feed the community. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation can contact Brighton Beach SAPS or share information anonymously with Crime Stop.
