Yas and Mixx, leading telecommunications companies in Tanzania, have launched a nationwide customer support initiative. As part of Customer Service Week activities, the companies will deploy customer support teams to markets across the country. The initiative, which runs until October 9, aims to address customer complaints and gather feedback. The launch took place in Mwanza on Monday, with Yas and Mixx officials outlining their plans to engage with customers directly.
The customer support teams will visit major markets, including the main market in Mwanza, to assist customers and resolve complaints on the spot where possible. Yas Director of Customer Experience, Mwangaza Matotola, stated that cases requiring further investigation would be followed up until they are resolved, with customers kept informed of progress. This move is part of Yas and Mixx's efforts to provide reliable services and improve customer experience.
The theme of this year's Customer Service Week is "The Extra Mile," which calls on service providers to listen to customers, offer timely assistance, and honour their commitments. Matotola emphasized Yas' responsibility to provide reliable services every day, thanking the company's more than 33 million customers for their continued trust. Yas has invested significantly in expanding and upgrading its network, comprising over 4,900 towers, with investments exceeding Sh1.2 trillion.
During Customer Service Week, customers visiting Yas and Mixx stores will have opportunities to win prizes through quizzes and spin-the-wheel games. Visitors will also receive gifts and cake. Mixx Director of Operations, Arnold Ngarashi, highlighted the importance of timely support, particularly in mobile money services, where transaction problems can disrupt customers' daily activities.
Ngarashi emphasized that when a customer raises an issue, Mixx handles it with an understanding of how much that money means to them. Yas Tanzania Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer, Sylvia Balwire, added that protecting customer information and communicating clearly are central to maintaining trust. Balwire stated that the theme "The Extra Mile" reflects Yas and Mixx's commitment to protecting customer information and improving the customer experience.
The week-long initiative will also recognize employees who serve customers in stores and those working behind the scenes. Customers can seek assistance by calling 100, visiting the companies' over 567 stores nationwide, or contacting them through their social media accounts, @yastanzania and @mixx.tz. This move demonstrates Yas and Mixx's dedication to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
By engaging directly with customers and providing timely support, Yas and Mixx aim to enhance their services and build trust with their customers. The companies' efforts to listen to feedback and take responsibility for their services are in line with the theme "The Extra Mile." As the initiative continues until October 9, customers can expect improved support and services from Yas and Mixx.
