Xclusive Uganda, a group of horticulture companies, is seeking a skilled Compound Designer and Gardener to join its team in Kampala, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and supervising greening and landscaping projects to enhance the appearance and environmental value of the company's compounds. With a total production area of 11 hectares and 550 colleagues, Xclusive Uganda is a significant player in the horticulture industry.
The Compound Designer and Gardener will be tasked with developing and implementing landscape designs and greening projects, including tree planting, flower gardens, lawns, hedges, and ornamental features. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Forestry, Environmental Management, or a related field from a recognized institution. Additionally, they will require practical experience of 5 years in preparing landscape drawings, planting plans, and project estimates.
The successful candidate will conduct site assessments and recommend suitable landscaping solutions, plant species, trees, shrubs, and ground covers that are appropriate for local environmental and operational conditions. They will also oversee landscape installation and maintenance activities, ensuring healthy, attractive, and well-maintained grounds while meeting agreed timelines and budgets.
The Compound Designer and Gardener will provide technical guidance on landscaping, plant establishment, maintenance practices, and compound beautification initiatives. They will also ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and promote sustainable landscaping practices across company premises.
