WestProp Holdings has announced plans to build Chivhu's first apartment blocks at its newly unveiled Chivhu Eco City. The development is designed to redefine urban luxury lifestyle, with a focus on integrating a safari experience into the residential estate. The company's Chief Executive, Ken Sharpe, explained that apartment construction will respond to market demand.

The Chivhu Eco City master plan includes a thriving society designed for up to 80,000 residents, incorporating at least 20 schools, state-of-the-art commercial hubs, and green open spaces that preserve the regional flora. The development is situated on a strategic location along the national corridor linking Harare to Masvingo and further to South Africa's busy trade gateways.

The 2,000-hectare private game reserve is intended to host the Big Five and other wildlife, providing a unique safari experience for residents. WestProp's "live, work, shop, and play" philosophy is central to the development's design. Ken Sharpe drew inspiration from similar developments in Indonesia and South Africa, citing Sentul City in Indonesia as a model.

Chivhu, previously known as a vital geographic anchor and crossroads, serves as a critical location for trade and commerce. The town's strategic position along the national corridor makes it an ideal location for the eco-city development. WestProp's venture into Chivhu marks its expansion beyond Harare, where it has been domiciled for years.

The development's design and character will embody the safari spirit of the estate, with each block reflecting the unique theme. Ken Sharpe expressed his gratitude for the "overwhelming grace" his company has encountered in implementing its projects, jokingly suggesting that Chivhu Eco City could be nicknamed the Lord's City.

WestProp's foray into Chivhu is seen as a significant investment in Zimbabwe's property sector. The company's plans for the eco-city are ambitious, with a focus on creating a sustainable and luxurious living environment. The development is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and community.

The unveiling of Chivhu Eco City has generated interest and excitement among stakeholders, with many eagerly awaiting the project's implementation. WestProp's commitment to building Chivhu's first apartment blocks is seen as a major milestone in the development's progress. The project's success will depend on various factors, including market demand and regulatory approvals.
