On October 3, 2026, West Delta Governor, Major General Alaa Abdel Maati, inaugurated a sewage station in Kfar El-Sakhel village, Tantawi district. The station was built at a cost of EGP 37 million and will serve 4,703 residents from the village and Hamad Awada hamlet. This marks the first time these areas have access to sewage services, adding a fundamental service to the local community.

The inauguration was attended by Major General Mohamed Abdel Fattah, chairman of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, Engineer Ahmed Al-Gharwani, general secretary of the Future of the Nation party in West Delta, and Ali Az and Samir Al-Khouli, members of the House of Representatives and Senate. Adel Dawoud, head of Tantawi district and city, was also present.

The newly opened station is part of the "Mega" sewage projects in West Delta, funded by development partners, including the European Investment Bank and the Asian Bank, totaling EGP 2.8 billion. The project comprises 22 comprehensive sewage projects and three treatment plants. The Kfar El-Sakhel station spans 216 square meters and has a design capacity of 3,456 cubic meters per day.

The station features 3 submersible pumps, including two primary and one backup pump, as well as a 65 KVA backup generator. The project includes a total network length of 7.287 kilometers. Governor Abdel Maati emphasized that the current national celebrations mark a significant milestone, with new projects and services being launched for residents.

Abdel Maati highlighted that the provision of sewage services to Kfar El-Sakhel for the first time represents a genuine gift to the village's residents, demonstrating the state's commitment to delivering essential services to citizens in various villages. He also stressed the ongoing implementation of sewage projects to meet residents' needs.

The governor concluded his visit by emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring of operation and maintenance work, ensuring the station's efficiency and components are preserved. This will guarantee the service's sustainability and quality, maximizing the project's benefits for Kfar El-Sakhel and Hamad Awada residents.
