On September 21, in Tabligbo, Togo, West African Cement (Wacem) proceeded with the compensatory indemnification of landowners affected by the new delimitations of its land domains. The operation covers six local communities, spanning a total area of 28,143 hectares. This initiative marks a significant step in implementing the new delimitations for the next five years, ensuring that landowners' rights and interests are considered.
The total indemnification cost amounts to 71,040,320 CFA francs, broken down into 8,442,900 CFA francs for the land and 62,597,420 CFA francs for the crops present on the plots. The land will be returned to its owners at the end of the exploitation period, as stipulated in the operation's framework.
The indemnification process was attended by traditional authorities, representatives, Wacem officials, and defense and security forces. Yoto Prefect, Lt.
