Vista Bank Burkina and its association SOS SANG recently organized a blood drive at the bank's headquarters in Ouagadougou. The initiative, which took place on October 8, 2026, aimed to collect blood donations from the bank's agents. The event was attended by Mohamed BA, Director General of Vista Bank Burkina, who emphasized the importance of blood donation, highlighting that it is a simple act that can have a significant impact on saving lives.

The blood drive was organized in response to the high demand for blood products, particularly during the malaria season. Jean Bosco ZOUNDI, president of SOS SANG, stated that the association had approached Vista Bank to collaborate with the Centre national de transfusion sanguine (CNTS) to collect blood donations. The goal was to collect 50 poches of blood, but the turnout exceeded expectations, with many agents volunteering to donate.

Several Vista Bank agents who participated in the blood drive shared their experiences and motivations for donating blood. Djamilatou OUEDRAOGO, an agent at Vista Bank, stated that she had already donated blood eight times and believed that it was essential to save lives. Prisca KONE, another agent, shared her personal experience of needing blood for her daughter and wanted to contribute to helping others in similar situations.

Other participants, including Abdoul Akim CONGO, a trainee at Vista Bank, and Mazou SORE, an agent at the bank, emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation. They encouraged others to donate blood, highlighting that it is a simple and selfless act that can save lives. The event was seen as an opportunity to promote a culture of solidarity and social responsibility.

The team responsible for collecting blood donations reported an overwhelming response from the agents, exceeding their initial target of 50 poches. Ousmane Gaméné, an infirmier at the Centre de transfusion sanguine de Ouagadougou, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout, stating that the goal was to collect 50 poches, but they hoped to exceed that number.

The blood drive organized by Vista Bank Burkina and SOS SANG highlights the importance of blood donation and the role that individuals and organizations can play in promoting a culture of solidarity.
