VFD Group Plc, a leading investment company in Nigeria, has strengthened its executive leadership with the appointment of Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo as Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director, effective October 5, 2026. The appointment was disclosed in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on October 2. Emezie-Ezigbo brings over two decades of experience in corporate finance, transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, and strategic financial management.

Emezie-Ezigbo joins VFD Group from KPMG Nigeria, where she served as partner and head of transaction services, West Africa. In this role, she led transaction advisory engagements across the region, advising businesses on corporate transactions, valuations, and strategic financial decisions. Her previous experience includes senior roles at Stanbic IBTC Group, IBM Canada, and Canadian Tire Corporation. This experience is expected to add significant technical expertise to VFD Group's senior leadership.

The appointment of Emezie-Ezigbo is part of VFD Group's efforts to deepen its governance structure and executive capacity to support its next phase of growth. Nonso Okpala, group managing director of VFD Group, stated that the creation of the deputy managing director role reflects the company's efforts to strengthen its governance and leadership structure. Emezie-Ezigbo holds a First-Class Honours degree in business administration from the University of Nigeria and a Master of Finance degree from Cass Business School, London. She also completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School and holds several professional certifications, including Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Associate Chartered Certified Accountant in the United Kingdom.

With Emezie-Ezigbo's appointment, VFD Group's executive leadership now includes Okpala and Executive Directors Folajimi Adeleye and Morenike Ominike. The company's board is chaired by Olatunde Busari (SAN).
