Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has launched a massive 4.4 million-man campaign media blitz in support of President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. The initiative, part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to engage the grassroots and ensure the President's message resonates across the country. According to Shehu Bala Usman, Director of Logistics for the Renewed Hope Agenda, the strategy involves a wider media and public enlightenment campaign, including a weekly media outreach on television channels.

The media blitz is an expansion of Uzodimma's broader strategy to use media communication as a mobilisation tool ahead of the 2027 elections. At a national mobilisation retreat in Abuja in June 2026, Uzodimma warned that inadequate communication could create a distorted public perception of government policies and achievements. He urged supporters to take the administration's message directly to the grassroots. The Imo governor subsequently disclosed a mobilisation architecture covering the country's 176,846 polling units, with 25 canvassers appointed at each polling unit.

The Renewed Hope Agenda had earlier unveiled a digital platform designed to aggregate policy experts for reforms updates and other government information, while integrating social media channels to widen its reach. The initiative provides for citizen engagement and feedback, with the organisation's structures extended from the national level to states, local governments, wards, and polling units. This approach aims to shift emphasis from political exchanges to the larger electoral objective of consolidating support for Tinubu.

Uzodimma's strategy involves instructing National Directors and Coordinators in the 36 states, including the FCT, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public awareness of the administration's programmes. The media strategy is being positioned not merely as an information campaign but as a grassroots communication network capable of taking the Renewed Hope message into communities, markets, campuses, wards, and polling units ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Despite caution from some quarters, including a group of lawyers, advising the FCT Minister against personal attacks on the Imo governor, Uzodimma has continued to concentrate on building a nationwide communication and mobilisation machinery for the Tinubu administration. The Imo governor's focus on the task ahead is aimed at delivering for President Tinubu, rather than engaging in public feuds.

The development represents a significant expansion of Uzodimma's mobilisation efforts, with a structure that amounts to 4,421,150 grassroots mobilisers. The strategy aims to counter misinformation and connect the administration's reforms narrative with voters at the grassroots. By leveraging digital and new media platforms, the initiative seeks to enlighten the general public on the Federal Government's policies.

The unveiling of the 4.4 million-man media blitz marks a critical phase in the re-election campaign of President Tinubu. With the weekly media outreach set to commence on television channels, the initiative is expected to gain traction in the coming days. The success of this strategy will depend on its ability to effectively mobilise support for the President and project the achievements of his administration.
