Veritas, a global supplier of automotive solutions, has announced the completion of a new manufacturing facility in Tangier, Morocco. This marks the company's first location in Morocco and its first in Africa. The plant is part of Veritas' long-term growth strategy, supporting its ability to serve original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers expanding their footprint in Morocco and North Africa.
The Tangier facility spans 5,000 square meters, including 3,835 square meters of production space, and features extrusion capabilities. Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027. The operation will be led by General Manager Jawad Miraoui, who brings over 18 years of experience in automotive industry operations leadership, supply chain management, and greenfield plant launches.
Veritas' move into Morocco is part of a broader effort to align its manufacturing footprint with customer demand and global growth. The company aims to support existing customers, compete for new programs, and participate in one of the automotive industry's key growth regions. This strategic expansion allows Veritas to enhance its support for customers and position itself for future opportunities in a dynamic market.
The investment in the Tangier facility follows HDT Automotive Solutions' acquisition of a large part of Germany-based Veritas AG in 2024. This acquisition brought the two businesses together, forming the present-day group. Veritas' parent company, HDT, was created in 2017 after French private-equity firm Ardian acquired Italy-based Dynamic Technologies and combined it with Huron, an existing Ardian portfolio company in the United States.
Veritas operates 13 manufacturing facilities across Austria, Bosnia, Canada, China, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, and the United States. The company serves the North American, European, and Asian automotive markets with over 5,000 employees across its global operations. Its customer base includes major automakers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, General Motors, and Volkswagen Group.
Patrick Paige, president and CEO of Veritas, described the Morocco presence as "an important step" in the company's global growth strategy. He emphasized that the move strengthens the company's global manufacturing network and enhances support for customers. Jawad Miraoui, General Manager of the Tangier facility, called the plant "an important milestone" for Veritas in a key automotive growth region.
Veritas has a rich history dating back to 1849 when it was founded as the Berliner Gummiwaarenfabrik in Berlin. The company was recognized by General Motors as a Supplier of the Year in 2025. With its expansion into Morocco, Veritas is poised to further establish itself as a key player in the automotive industry.
