The Urban Development Fund (UDF) of Egypt has achieved significant sales, recording EGP 6bn since the beginning of 2026. UDF Chairperson Khaled Seddik announced this during a conference, highlighting the fund's robust performance in the real estate sector. The fund is optimistic about its prospects, aiming to add EGP 3bn in sales by the end of 2026. This progress is part of the fund's broader strategy to enhance its project portfolio across Egypt.
The UDF is actively working on delivering around 10,000 housing units in 2027. This ambitious plan is part of its efforts to accelerate construction and handover rates across its projects. Currently, the fund has a diverse portfolio of 24 projects spread across 13 governorates. Khaled Seddik emphasized the fund's commitment to expediting implementation and delivery, especially after completing a significant portion of infrastructure and utility connections for its projects.
The UDF is preparing for the second phase of its land offering, which includes around 14 plots ranging in size from two to five feddans. Additionally, there are other land parcels, including a 185-feddan plot in Kafr El-Sheikh and another plot in Mahalla. These offerings are expected to attract significant interest from investors and developers, further bolstering the fund's project pipeline.
In Downtown Cairo and Fustat, the UDF has several high-profile projects underway. The El-Shorbagy Hotel, comprising 36 units, has completed the process of assigning its management to a company. The Fustat project is more extensive, including around 450 hotel units and 158 serviced apartments. Seddik mentioned that the first handovers at Fustat View are targeted for early 2027, with the fund addressing challenges that affected parts of the project.
The UDF is also focused on supporting customers affected by delays in some buildings. The fund is offering alternatives, such as transferring customers to other available units within the project or refunding the full value of their units without deducting any amounts. This customer-centric approach aims to maintain trust and satisfaction among buyers.
To further boost sales, the UDF is seeking to increase sales of its projects to Egyptians living abroad. The fund has recently organized two overseas exhibitions as part of these efforts. Additionally, it is coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explore the possibility of using Egyptian embassies to promote its projects and available units to Egyptians abroad.
The UDF's strategy to expand its sales channels and reach potential buyers outside the domestic market is ongoing. By accelerating construction and handovers across its project portfolio, the fund aims to solidify its position in Egypt's real estate sector. With a strong portfolio and proactive approach, the UDF is poised for continued growth and success.
