The University of Calabar (UniCal) has disowned an individual claiming to be a professor, known as "Prof. Odong," who has been allegedly defrauding students by offering to improve their examination results. According to the university's Public Relations Unit, the suspect, operating from Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, contacts students, informs them of poor examination results, and demands money to assist them.
UniCal's Security Department has established that there is no staff member known as Prof. Odong in its ICT unit. Preliminary checks also revealed that the suspect uses telephone number 08144115929 to communicate with students. The university has warned students to disregard any communication from the suspect and not to disclose personal or examination details or make payments to anyone claiming to have the ability to alter or facilitate their results.
The management of UniCal has urged students who had been contacted by the suspect to report the matter promptly to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
