Bukedea County MP Hon. David Beecham Okwere has encouraged Senior Four and Senior Six candidates in Uganda to work hard and excel in their forthcoming national examinations. He was the Guest of Honour at a blessing ceremony for candidates of Bukedea Comprehensive School, Kongunga High School, and other schools held at Bukedea Sports Arena Stadium. Okwere quoted the Bible, urging candidates to remain focused, disciplined, and determined.

The Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, presided over the ceremony alongside other clergy. He urged candidates to pursue education not merely for academic qualifications but as preparation for life. Bishop Eciru advised students to keep standards high and not settle for less. He emphasized the need to combine education with faith, wisdom, and good character.
Bishop Eciru cautioned students against sidelining God in their quest for knowledge, stressing that education and knowledge without God are worthless. He encouraged candidates to remain committed to their studies and not grow into a "clever devil." The bishop's message aimed to inspire students to balance academic pursuits with spiritual growth.
Asio Rose, the Resident Director of Bukedea Comprehensive Schools, expressed gratitude to the bishop, clergy, invited guests, parents, and well-wishers for attending the ceremony. She noted that the event's colourful turnout was a result of the collective effort to support students. Mr. Enoch Nadabga, the headteacher, confirmed that the candidates were fully prepared for the examinations.
