Uganda Baati, a company founded in 1964, is currently looking for a Chief Executive Officer to lead its operations in Kampala, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term value creation for Uganda Baati Limited. The role carries full P&L accountability and is responsible for business strategy, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, governance, operational excellence, and talent development. The CEO will also be responsible for strengthening market leadership, fostering a high-performance culture, ensuring compliance with Group standards, and delivering sustainable shareholder value.
The CEO will lead the annual and multi-year strategic and business planning process, ensuring full alignment with the Group's Business Plan and 5-Year Strategic Plan. The CEO will also own the full P&L, ensuring revenue growth, margin expansion, cost productivity, and cash flow discipline, in alignment with Group financial governance and scorecard expectations. Additionally, the CEO will build and maintain relationships with customers, authorities, regulators, and other stakeholders to strengthen market leadership.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, with a postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Business, or Management being an added advantage. The candidate should have at least 20 years of manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 10 years in a senior business leadership role with full P&L accountability within a Group or multinational environment. The candidate should also have proven experience leading businesses with annual revenues exceeding USD 150 million.
The CEO will be responsible for overseeing enterprise risk management, governance, health and safety oversight, and statutory compliance, ensuring full alignment with Group frameworks. The CEO will also promote an inclusive, ethical, and values-driven culture, ensuring alignment with Group HR policies and governance frameworks. Furthermore, the CEO will provide enterprise leadership that fosters a high-performance, values-driven culture, ensuring talent development, leadership capability, and succession planning.
