According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of September 14-15, 2026, around 4 am, in an apartment located in the Biafra neighborhood of Diamaguène. The victim's uncle reported that his nephew was sleeping alone in the apartment while he was working the night shift. The suspects allegedly entered the apartment by breaking a window and one of them, armed with a knife, threatened the boy and forced him to undress before committing the alleged rape.
The second suspect allegedly acted as a lookout outside the apartment while the rape was taking place. After the incident, the two men proceeded to burglarize the apartment, stealing several items including kitchen utensils, wigs, a fan, a suitcase containing clothes, and a gas bottle. The police launched an investigation into the incident and arrested one of the suspects on September 17, 2026, after a citizen contacted the police station.
The arrested suspect reportedly confessed to his involvement in the theft but denied the allegations of rape. His statements led the police to identify and arrest his alleged accomplice. The second suspect also reportedly confessed to his involvement in the burglary but claimed he was not aware of the alleged rape.
The police investigation resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen items, with the exception of the gas bottle, which remains missing. The suspects allegedly hid the gas bottle on the roof of a hut but later discovered it was no longer there.
