The Member of Parliament for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has announced that several infrastructure projects are currently underway in the Keta Municipality of Ghana's Volta Region. These projects, which began earlier in 2026, cover healthcare, education, and roads. According to the MP, two Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds are being constructed in the municipality, alongside various educational facilities being developed in different communities.

The CHPS compounds are part of a broader health infrastructure program aimed at expanding essential services within communities in the municipality. One of the locations benefiting from this intervention is Seva, where a CHPS compound is being constructed with accommodation and auxiliary facilities for nurses. This modern design aims to provide a comprehensive healthcare structure that goes beyond basic healthcare services.

In the education sector, infrastructure development is also progressing, with several projects at various locations. At Atiavi Secondary School, work is ongoing on a new school facility, supported by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). The municipality has attracted several GETFund-supported infrastructure projects, which are at different stages of development and aim to address infrastructure needs in various communities.

Road infrastructure is also receiving attention, with efforts being made to secure improvements to roads in the municipality. The MP stated that discussions are ongoing with the Minister of Roads and Highways to advance road projects, highlighting the need for road development to complement other infrastructure projects being undertaken across the area.

Improved roads are expected to strengthen connectivity within the municipality and support access to the various facilities being developed in communities. According to the MP, the projects in the health, education, and road sectors form part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure across the Keta Municipality, ensuring that communities benefit from facilities that support essential services while also improving connectivity between them.

The MP's initiatives aim to address long-standing infrastructure needs in the municipality. Residents of Keta have previously expressed concerns about the state of infrastructure in the area, including healthcare and education facilities. The current projects are part of a wider effort to improve living conditions and provide essential services to the community.

With two CHPS compounds, educational facilities, and road projects being pursued, the MP stated that efforts will continue to secure further infrastructure development for the municipality. Key projects include the commissioning of a 3-unit classroom at Atiavi Glime, which was done on October 5, 2026.
