In a significant development, two terrorists, identified as "ع. ك" alias Nasser and "ر. ص" alias Saad, surrendered to the military authorities in the sixth military region of Algeria. The duo was found with two Kalashnikov-type machine guns and a quantity of ammunition, along with other items. This incident is part of a series of operations conducted by the Algerian military to crack down on terrorism and organized crime.

According to the Algerian Ministry of National Defense, during the period from September 30 to October 6, 2026, the country's military units, in coordination with various security services, arrested 32 drug traffickers and foiled attempts to smuggle 21 quintals and 22 kilograms of cannabis resin across the border with Morocco. The operations also resulted in the seizure of 89,115 psychotropic tablets.

The Algerian military continued its efforts to combat smuggling and organized crime, arresting 96 individuals and seizing 28 vehicles, 66 electrical generators, and 54 pneumatic hammers. Additionally, large quantities of raw gold, stones, and equipment used for unauthorized gold prospecting were confiscated. These operations demonstrate the Algerian authorities' commitment to maintaining security and stability in the region.

In a separate operation, border guards successfully prevented 163 individuals from attempting to migrate illegally along the national coastlines, using traditional boats. Furthermore, 228 irregular migrants from various nationalities were apprehended across the country. These efforts highlight the Algerian authorities' determination to combat human trafficking and irregular migration.

The Algerian Ministry of National Defense reported that, in addition to the two terrorists who surrendered, eight other individuals who supported extremist groups were arrested during separate operations nationwide. The military operations also led to the confiscation of three machine guns, four hunting rifles, and 8,790 liters of fuel. These seizures demonstrate the Algerian authorities' ability to disrupt and dismantle smuggling networks.
