The Tunisian Association for SOS Children's Villages is launching its new headquarters located at 19 Suleiman Al-Razqi Street, in the 9th arrondissement of Tunis. This move is intended to bring the organization closer to families, partners, and donors, facilitating communication and collaboration. The inauguration will be marked by an open day event, featuring the theme "Closer to Hearts... Closer to Impact."
The new headquarters was chosen to strengthen the association's presence near families, partners, and donors, according to Rami Ben Salah, Director of SOS Children's Village. The open day event, scheduled from 10 am to 5 pm, will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the association's programs, activities, and efforts in caring for children who have lost their family support.
The open day event aims to promote solidarity among Tunisian society and the extended SOS family, while allowing families and supporters to familiarize themselves with the association's programs and intervention mechanisms in the field of childcare. The association currently provides care and support to 4135 children and young people, with plans to reach around 5000 in the near future.
In addition to its traditional SOS Children's Villages, the association has introduced the "Integrated Families" program, which seeks to reintegrate children who have lost their family support into their social environment. This program involves providing 16 integrated homes in the Greater Tunis area, each accommodating a mother, an aunt, and four children, allowing them to live in a more open and family-like environment.
The association also operates five offices, four of which are located in the Greater Tunis area and one in Nabul, providing comprehensive support to families and children, including educational and psychological accompaniment, home improvement, and equipment. The organization also offers school supplies and grants to students.
Furthermore, the association has set up an office near Barcelona Square in Tunis, dedicated to supporting families and children in the Helal neighborhood, particularly in the areas of psychological support and child protection from high-risk behaviors. To date, 345 children have benefited from the services of this office.
The Tunisian Association for SOS Children's Villages continues to develop its mechanisms for childcare and integration, with a focus on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for children who have lost their family support. The new headquarters and open day event mark a significant milestone in the organization's efforts to enhance its impact and engagement with the community.
