Tunisia's Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chawed, has overseen the signing of a private cooperation agreement between the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training, the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work, and the Tunisian Association for Management and Social Balance (TAMSS). The agreement aims to contribute to the implementation of national priorities in vocational training, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The agreement seeks to improve the employability of job seekers and enhance the alignment between vocational training offers and labor market needs. It is part of the implementation of the "CHEMIN" project, which aims to strengthen dual training, improve employability, and modernize the national vocational integration system. This project is being carried out in cooperation with the Principality of Monaco.
Minister Chawed emphasized the importance of integrating all projects and programs carried out within the framework of international cooperation into the state's orientations in the field of human resource training and qualification. He highlighted the axes of governance and evaluation, and measuring impact. The Minister also stressed the need for effective implementation and follow-up of these projects.
The Executive Director of TAMSS, Shama Al-Qarqouri, praised the level of cooperation with the Ministry and its structures. She noted that this institutional agreement is a new bridge for cooperation that relies on local and regional dimensions to contribute to the development of skills and improve employability. The agreement will enable the implementation of several structural activities.
The project involves enhancing the pedagogical and technical capacities of trainers and administrative staff in vocational training institutions. It also aims to improve the employability of job seekers by developing their professional and entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, the project seeks to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and encourage private initiative among job seekers.
Following the signing ceremony, the parties agreed to establish a steering committee to implement the cooperation project. They also agreed to accelerate the development of a practical plan and an execution schedule, and to identify the list of vocational training centers, employment and independent work offices, and initiative spaces concerned by the project.
The agreement is expected to strengthen the partnership between the three institutions and enhance the employability of Tunisian job seekers. The project's activities will be implemented in several regions of the country, and its impact will be evaluated based on predefined indicators. The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training is committed to supporting the implementation of this project.
