Tunisia has taken a significant step to strengthen its position in medical technology by signing seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with international partners on the sidelines of the "Telehealth Connect 2026" conference, held in Tunis from September 29 to October 1, 2026. The agreements were signed by three Tunisian institutions specializing in digital health. These MoUs aim to foster cooperation in digital health, exchange of expertise, evaluation of health solutions, innovation, and continuous medical training.

The MoUs were signed with partners from France, Switzerland, the United States, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates. One of the Tunisian institutions signed four MoUs with US, Swiss, and French partners to support the evaluation of digital health maturity in Tunisia within the Global Digital Health Monitor (GDHM). The agreements will help Tunisia to benefit from international expertise and enhance its digital health services.

Another Tunisian institution signed an MoU with the Association of Tunisian Medical Doctors Worldwide (AMTM) to utilize the expertise of Tunisian medical professionals abroad in continuous medical training. The partnership will focus on enriching content, exchanging knowledge, and supporting scientific quality while maintaining scientific independence. This collaboration will enable Tunisian medical professionals to share their expertise and enhance the quality of medical training in the country.

Two other MoUs were signed with a German company and a UAE-based company to explore cooperation opportunities in digital health and study the possibility of entering the Tunisian market and expanding regionally. The agreements also include a feasibility study for a pilot project in telemedicine. These partnerships will help Tunisia to expand its digital health services and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
