The University of Manouba in Tunisia kicked off its third Cultural Days event on Wednesday, under the theme "Awaken Your Talents and Interact with the Rhythm of University of Manouba." The event is a collaboration with several partners, including associations and university institutions. University President Amer Al Sharif highlighted that the event aims to establish a comprehensive university life that goes beyond academic achievement and scientific training.
The event features an exhibition of artistic works and a "Wall of Ideas," an interactive space showcasing student creativity and gathering talented individuals. This space allows students to express themselves, refine their skills, and interact with each other through a combination of art, thought, and direct communication. Various workshops have also begun, including activities such as recycling paper jewelry, "laughter yoga," drawing comic strips, and playing chess.
According to University Vice President Azza Freikha, the workshops are competitive and allow students to demonstrate their skills in areas like music, singing, graffiti, and poetry. Around 50 students are participating in the different workshops, while approximately 250 others are involved in various artistic activities and exhibitions. The event is open to all creative expressions within the university community.
The Cultural Days program includes diverse artistic performances, such as a fashion show titled "From Here and There," which combines traditional Arab, African, and international clothing. The event features students from 15 countries, with 300 international students studying at the university. The fashion show is a reflection of the university's diverse student body.
The event also features student performances produced during the competitive workshops in music, graffiti, and poetry. A selection of artists, including Abdel Latif Khair Eddine, Monir Al Mahdi, and Maryem Qlal, will evaluate the performances, award prizes, and participate in the event. The first day of the event concludes with a musical performance by University of Manouba students and a musical segment by Monir Al Mahdi.
The second day of the event is dedicated to an exploratory trip for students to the state of Zaghouan. The Cultural Days event aims to promote a comprehensive university experience that includes cultural, artistic, and creative activities. University of Manouba's initiative seeks to provide students with opportunities to express themselves and develop their talents.
The event reflects the university's commitment to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond academic studies. By hosting such events, the university encourages students to engage in creative activities, develop their skills, and build a sense of community. The Cultural Days event is a testament to the university's dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus culture.
