The Regional Education Delegation in Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia, is implementing a cultural caravan project to support educational institutions with limited cultural clubs. The project, prepared by the Service of Cultural Activities in middle and high schools, aims to revitalize school life in these institutions. It is carried out in partnership with the Regional Unit of the School Services Office and involves several administrations, associations, and organizations.
The cultural caravan project, which started last academic year and will run for three years, seeks to bring cultural, sports, and social clubs closer to students and encourage their participation. This initiative aims to help students discover their interests, respond to their hobbies, and make the most of their free time. It also aims to stimulate cultural, social, and sports activities among students.
According to Abd al-Hakim Khaskhoussi, head of the Service of Cultural Activities in middle and high schools, the project involves visits to educational institutions where various workshops will be organized. These workshops will be led by educational staff and will focus on cinema, image, visual arts, theater, music, robotics, road safety, reading, Arabic reading challenge, artificial intelligence, and risk behaviors.
The project is carried out in partnership with several organizations, including the Tunisian Red Crescent, the Tunisian Scouts, the Tunisian Association for Cultural Promotion, the Association for Educational Initiatives, the Regional Health Administration, and the Tunisian Association for Road Safety. These partnerships aim to provide a comprehensive and diverse range of activities for students.
The first cultural caravan of this academic year is set to visit the Sidi Bouzid Preparatory School in Souk Jedid on October 16. During these visits, cultural clubs will be established in the host institutions. The project targets institutions that have struggled with a low number of cultural clubs in recent years.
The cultural caravan project is part of a broader effort to promote cultural and educational activities in Tunisia. Other initiatives have been reported in various regions, including a symposium on the relationship between families and schools in Qebli and the organization of an annual exhibition by the National Center for Artistic Pottery in Sidi Qasim al-Jalizi.
The implementation of the cultural caravan project highlights the Tunisian government's commitment to promoting cultural and educational activities among students. The project is expected to have a positive impact on students' lives and provide them with new opportunities for personal growth and development.
