The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training in Tunisia and Tunisie Telecom have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at improving vocational training and employment in the country. The five-year agreement, which can be renewed, was signed on October 14, 2026, at the Sectoral Training Center in Electronics in Denden. The partnership focuses on digital transformation, technological innovation, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and infrastructure development.

The agreement, which consists of 12 articles, grants Tunisie Telecom the status of strategic partner. According to Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued, the partnership aims to improve the quality of training, develop learners' skills, and diversify training methods. The minister emphasized that traditional in-person training is no longer sufficient to keep up with current changes, and distance learning through digital platforms is essential to expanding the reach of vocational training.

The partnership will enable the Ministry to leverage Tunisie Telecom's training centers and update training programs in telecommunications to meet labor market needs. It will also provide learners with practical internship opportunities, enhancing the connection between training and professional requirements. Chaoued noted that the partnership had already led to the creation of the first artificial intelligence laboratory at the Kef Professional Training and Learning Center and the development of fiber-optic training at the Sers Rural Girl Center.

Tunisie Telecom's CEO, Lassâad Ben Dhiab, stated that the company will provide its technological resources and expertise to support the Ministry's projects related to telecommunications, digital transition, and artificial intelligence. The partnership aims to develop telecommunications infrastructure, enhance high-speed connectivity, and provide secure and reliable communication solutions between Ministry structures and institutions.

The agreement also involves developing fiber-optic networks, connecting employment offices, vocational training centers, and regional structures to high-speed internet, and establishing artificial intelligence laboratories in vocational training centers. These laboratories will be modern digital spaces equipped with high-speed internet connections.

Abdesattar Tajouri, Executive Director of Tunisie Telecom, mentioned that the company will implement an advanced distance learning system using integrated technical solutions hosted and managed within Tunisie Telecom's national data center. This system will provide an interactive learning experience combining in-person and remote training, overcoming logistical constraints through innovative solutions such as virtual laboratories.

The partnership between the Ministry of Employment and Tunisie Telecom is expected to have a positive impact on vocational training and employment in Tunisia. By leveraging digital technologies and innovative solutions, the agreement aims to improve the quality and accessibility of training, ultimately enhancing the employability of Tunisian citizens.
