Tunisia's Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zwari, has announced that several major infrastructure projects are being implemented in the Nabeul governorate. The projects, which include bridges and roads, are valued at over 250 million dinars. During a working visit to the region on Wednesday, the minister stated that over 60 million dinars have been allocated to repair damage to infrastructure and flood protection projects caused by heavy rainfall at the beginning of 2026.

The minister inspected the progress of the work on the RD 128 road, which connects Ain Agtur to Qurbis. He noted that the project, which spans 2.5 kilometers, has a budget of over 100 million dinars and is over 90% complete. The minister expects the work to be finished by the end of 2026, although additional time may be needed to complete exceptional protection work in the sensitive mountainous area.

Zwari also visited the site of the intersection of the RD 41 and RD 26 roads in Slyman, where repair work is underway. He reviewed the progress of the RD 27 road, which connects Nabeul to Kelibia. According to the minister, the first phase of the project has been completed, but the contract with the company responsible for the third phase was terminated due to implementation difficulties.

The minister emphasized that his ministry is working to complete the entire road during the first half of 2027. In addition to these projects, Zwari mentioned that programs to clean and integrate neighborhoods into the urban cycle are ongoing. He praised the proactive efforts of local authorities to clean watercourses and flood protection infrastructure.

The minister urged citizens to support these efforts by refraining from throwing waste into water drainage channels. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between citizens and authorities to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of infrastructure. The minister's visit aimed to assess the progress of these projects and address any challenges that may arise.

The Nabeul governorate is expected to benefit from significant investments in infrastructure, which will improve the quality of life for residents and enhance regional connectivity. The projects being implemented will also contribute to the country's economic growth and development. The minister's announcement reflects the government's commitment to improving infrastructure across the country.

The implementation of these projects demonstrates the government's efforts to address the needs of local communities and promote sustainable development. The Ministry of Equipment and Housing is working to ensure that these projects are completed on time and meet the required standards. Key infrastructure projects are essential for Tunisia's economic and social development.
