Tunisia's Industrial Development and Modernization Agency (ADIM) has approved the first three outputs of a study on the country's electronics sector. The study aims to support the development of Tunisia's industrial fabric and encourage investment in high-value-added activities. The meeting, held at the ADIM headquarters, was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, and the German International Cooperation Agency.
The study is part of the 2035 Industrial and Modernization Strategy of the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy. It is also a continuation of a previous study on promising sectors conducted by ADIM and the German International Cooperation Agency between 2023 and 2025. The current study is being implemented under the "Partnerships for Employment and Support for Medium-Sized Enterprises" project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The electronics sector study aims to identify investment and development opportunities in the sector and enhance the integration of Tunisian companies into global value chains. The study also seeks to promote Tunisia as a competitive platform for designing, manufacturing, and integrating electronic systems, particularly for European and African markets. The sector is considered a high-potential area, with opportunities in fields such as mobility, light mobility, and energy.
During the meeting, participants reviewed and discussed the first three outputs of the study, which included the development of professional cards to guide the next stages of the study. The cards will help identify areas of specialization and opportunities for investment and growth in the electronics sector. The study's findings will also inform the development of policies and strategies to support the sector.
The ADIM has emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership in developing the electronics sector. The agency believes that this approach will help create new industrial opportunities and enhance Tunisia's integration into regional and international value chains. The study's recommendations are expected to contribute to the creation of jobs and wealth in the country.
The electronics sector is considered a key area for growth and development in Tunisia. The sector has the potential to drive innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in areas such as software development, electronics manufacturing, and research and development. The study's findings will provide valuable insights into the sector's strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth.
The approval of the study's initial findings marks an important milestone in the development of Tunisia's electronics sector. The ADIM and its partners are expected to continue working together to implement the study's recommendations and support the growth of the sector. The sector's development is expected to have a positive impact on Tunisia's economy and contribute to the country's sustainable development.
