Tunisia's "Easy Export" program, managed by the Export Promotion Centre, offers support of up to 50% for transportation costs of craft products through the postal network. This initiative aims to promote the export of traditional industry products, along with agricultural products, food industries, and start-ups. The program's details were presented at a workshop titled "Introduction to the Mechanisms of the Export Promotion Fund to Support the Export of Traditional Industry Products."
The "Easy Export" program is open to companies based in Tunisia with a majority of Tunisian capital, and they must be registered with the relevant authorities. Eligible companies can benefit from support for transportation costs, as well as advertising and promotion expenses, which can range from 50 to 70%. To benefit from this program, craft businesses can contact the National Office for Traditional Industries or the Export Promotion Centre to register and open a legal file.
Mohamed Ameen Ben Maatoug, deputy head of the Export Promotion Centre, stated that the program allows for the export of parcels weighing less than 30 kilograms. The centre's services respond to the National Postal Office within 48 hours to determine a company's eligibility for support. Once eligibility is confirmed, the company automatically benefits from 50% support for shipping costs.
The Export Promotion Fund covers the remaining 50% of shipping costs through the National Postal Office. Ben Maatoug added that the program aims to support the export of traditional industry products, which are mainly produced by small and medium-sized enterprises. The "Easy Export" program is one of several initiatives to promote Tunisian exports.
The third edition of the ARTICREA professional fair for traditional industries is taking place in Tunis, featuring 228 craft businesses from across the country. The event, which runs until October 11, 2026, includes participation from 60% women-led businesses and 40% businesses led by higher education graduates.
The ARTICREA fair provides a platform for Tunisian craft businesses to showcase their products and connect with potential buyers. The event also offers an opportunity for businesses to learn about available support programs, such as the "Easy Export" initiative. This program is expected to boost the export of traditional industry products.
The Tunisian government's efforts to support the export of craft products aim to promote economic growth and job creation. The "Easy Export" program is part of a broader strategy to increase the country's exports and improve its competitiveness in the global market.
