The Regional Delegation for Women's Affairs, Family, Childhood, and Elderly People in Ben Arous, in collaboration with the Regional Health Administration and the National Family and Human Habitat Observatory, organized a health and psychological caravan on September 30, 2026, at the Mernag Children's Club. The caravan aimed to raise awareness and promote prevention of drug risks and digital addiction among young people.
The caravan, which was held under the slogan "Your Health First," targeted around 30 children aged between 10 and 16 years old. The team in charge of the caravan provided a comprehensive approach that included recreational activities, psychological therapy, dialogue sessions, and brain-storming exercises, as well as health and psychological interventions. The goal was to enhance young people's awareness of drug risks and support their psychological and social abilities to prevent risk behaviors and digital addiction.
According to Ms. Jawaher Milad, head of the Women's and Family Affairs department at the Regional Delegation for Women's Affairs, Family, and Elderly People in Ben Arous, the caravan was launched in response to a call from the Ministry to organize psychological and health caravans for young people. The caravan is part of the first phase of the National Program for Networked Prevention of Drug Risks.
The Ministry of Women's Affairs and Family had called on its regional administrations to organize caravans across the country to support families in early prevention of drug addiction. The ministry aims to provide health and psychological support to young people and families, help parents identify behavioral and psychological changes in their children, and offer psychological support and guidance.
The caravan's activities included recreational games, psychological therapy sessions, and awareness-raising interventions on drug risks and digital addiction. The team also provided a safe space for young people to express themselves and receive support. The caravan's organizers hope that such initiatives will help reduce the risks of drug addiction and digital addiction among young people in Tunisia.
The Regional Delegation for Women's Affairs, Family, Childhood, and Elderly People in Ben Arous plans to continue organizing such caravans to reach more young people and promote prevention of drug risks and digital addiction. The delegation hopes that the caravan will contribute to building a safer and healthier community for young people in Tunisia.
The health and psychological caravan in Mernag is part of a broader effort to address the risks of drug addiction and digital addiction among young people in Tunisia. The initiative reflects the government's commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its citizens, particularly young people.
