Tunisia's National Center for Training and Competency Development has recently launched a remote listening platform aimed at providing psychological support to students and collecting their complaints. The initiative, coordinated with the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs, seeks to address the growing concerns of students' well-being. A green number will also be made available to students soon.
According to Adel Dkhil, Director General of the National Center for Training and Competency Development, the platform is part of a broader project to combat risky behaviors and phenomena. In a radio interview, Dkhil emphasized that the measures are designed to ensure students' safety and well-being. The project also involves dedicating 10 minutes during classes to raise awareness about online risks, drug use, and emerging issues.
As part of the project, students are prohibited from leaving school premises during idle hours, breaks, or when teachers are absent. This decision aims to provide comprehensive supervision and protect students while they are in school. The move is intended to prevent students from engaging in potentially risky behaviors or being exposed to harm.
To ensure the success of the project, all stakeholders must be involved, Dkhil stressed. Idle hours will be converted into mandatory supervision periods, during which students will be directed to available spaces within schools, such as revision rooms, libraries, sports complexes, and green areas. This supervision will be carried out under the oversight of Ministry of Youth and Sports officials and Ministry of Family, Women, Childhood, and Elderly Affairs interveners.
The new platform and accompanying measures are designed to provide students with a secure and supportive environment. By allocating specific times for awareness-raising and providing accessible spaces for students to engage in constructive activities, the authorities aim to mitigate potential risks and promote students' well-being.
The collaboration between various ministries and stakeholders underscores the government's commitment to addressing students' needs and concerns. By working together, the authorities hope to create a safer and more supportive educational environment that fosters students' growth and development.
The implementation of these measures is expected to have a positive impact on students' lives, providing them with the necessary support and resources to navigate challenges and make informed decisions. As the project unfolds, its effectiveness and impact will likely be closely monitored and evaluated.
