Tunisia's Minister of Commerce and Export Development, Samir Abid, announced the launch of regional meetings to promote the Easy Export program. The program aims to facilitate exports for small and medium-sized enterprises via the postal network. The meetings will be held in Tunis, Sousse, Sfax, Gabès, and Kef, providing a platform for direct exchange with companies and economic actors.

The Easy Export program has already seen significant participation, with 71 companies adhering to the program since its reactivation in October 2025. These companies have sent approximately 6,200 postal packages abroad, with 60% of them being shipped to the United States. The program primarily benefits companies operating in the crafts and agri-food sectors.

The regional meetings will explain the different steps and procedures of the Easy Export program, address company and artisan concerns, and identify solutions to challenges faced. The meetings also aim to understand regional economic specificities and identify promising products and activities for export. This approach demonstrates the government's interest in promoting equitable access to export services.

The Easy Export program is part of a broader effort to transform the culture of exportation in Tunisia. Minister Abid emphasized that exportation is not limited to large companies, but also represents an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises, artisans, and young companies to develop their activities and access international markets.

The program offers several benefits, including a subsidy covering up to 50% of postal transport costs related to exportation, a one-stop shop for export procedures, and a web portal with necessary information and procedures. The program is co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The Ministry of Commerce and Export Development aims to encourage more companies to join the Easy Export program through the regional meetings. Efforts will also focus on expanding the program's reach to all regions of the country and digitalizing the export process to facilitate procedures for companies.

The Easy Export program supports Tunisia's small and medium-sized enterprises, which account for over 80% of the country's economic fabric and contribute to more than 50% of the GDP. With approximately 960,000 active SMEs in Tunisia, the program provides a vital opportunity for these companies to access international markets and grow their businesses.
