The Carthage Event Shows 2026, a collaborative effort between the Tunisian Aviation Association and Nadas Events, commenced on October 23 and will run until November 2, 2026. The event aims to promote Tunisia's tourism industry by showcasing the country's cultural and natural attractions through a series of aerial displays, artistic performances, and cultural experiences. The event features 13 hot air balloons and five paramotor aircraft, as well as two planes provided by the Tunisian University of Sports Aviation.

The event's organizers have put in place a comprehensive safety plan, which includes a team of experts responsible for overseeing the aerial operations and ensuring the safety of participants and spectators. The safety plan also takes into account the weather conditions, particularly wind speed, to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The Tunisian Aviation Association is responsible for the technical and artistic aspects of the event, while Nadas Events handles the organizational and promotional aspects.

The event's program includes a range of cultural and tourist experiences, covering various destinations in Tunisia, including Carthage, Zaghouan, Djerba, Tozeur, and Nefta. The goal is to highlight the country's diverse cultural and natural attractions and promote a new type of tourism that combines art, entertainment, sports, and culture. According to Habib Ben Moussa, president of the Tunisian Restaurants Association, the event aims to move beyond traditional beach tourism and develop "experience tourism" that allows visitors to discover new destinations through various activities.

The event kicked off with a light show at the archaeological site of Carthage, featuring a visual presentation of the city's history using 3D projections. The Lebanese artist Ragheb Assaf performed at the opening ceremony. The program then moved to the desert town of Tozeur, where aerial displays and hot air balloon rides were held, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the filming of scenes from the movie "Star Wars" in the Tunisian desert.

The event also features a scientific forum, which took place on October 23, 2026, in the city of Hammamet. The forum, organized in collaboration with the Tunisian-European Tourism Sector Meeting, focused on the future of tourism and aviation professions. The forum saw the announcement of the transformation of the Hammamet Training Center into the "Afro-Mediterranean Institute for Tourism Training". The project aims to develop new skills and specialties in the tourism sector, in line with the 2030 vision.

The forum also discussed topics such as sustainable tourism, decent work, and entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Tunisian Solidarity Bank. The goal is to support graduates of vocational training and encourage them to start their own projects. The program also includes the restructuring and updating of four basic training centers in Sousse, Tozeur, Ain Draham, and Monastir, in partnership with the International Labor Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

The Carthage Event Shows 2026 aims to support the diversification of Tunisia's tourism product, promote cultural and natural attractions, and open up new opportunities for aviation and adventure tourism. The event also seeks to develop the skills and professions of the future in the sector, in line with international standards and trends. By combining aerial displays, artistic performances, and specialized training, the event aims to make a significant contribution to the development of Tunisia's tourism industry.
