Tunisia's Fondation Fidaa announced on September 30, 2026, that it has posthumously promoted eight soldiers who were martyred in a terrorist attack on May 25, 2015. The eight soldiers who received posthumous promotions are: Captain Abd al-Majid al-Jabri, who was promoted to the rank of Major; Sergeant-Major Muhammad al-Tahir Razqi, who was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant; Sergeant Zuhair Brhoumi, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant-Major; Corporal Mahdi al-Kafi, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant-Major; Corporal Akhdar al-Nusaybi, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant-Major; Sergeant Yasin Bouabid, who was promoted to the rank of Corporal; and Privates Bassam Husni and Haytham al-Sulaymi, who were both promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In addition to the promotions, Fondation Fidaa also awarded a military medal to five of the martyred soldiers: Sergeant Zuhair Brhoumi, Corporal Mahdi al-Kafi, Sergeant Yasin Bouabid, Private Bassam Husni, and Private Haytham al-Sulaymi. This honor was bestowed upon them in recognition of their service and sacrifice.
