The survey found that 96% of respondents experienced power outages, with 58.3% facing multiple outages per day. These disruptions resulted in an average loss of 13 working days over the two-month period.

The effects of the power outages were widespread, with 29% of businesses reporting losses of at least 20 working days, equivalent to a full month. The outages also caused significant damage to equipment, with nearly two-thirds of respondents reporting damage to machinery, including motors, compressors, and production machines. This was followed by damage to computer equipment and servers.

The commercial repercussions of the power outages were substantial, with 63.5% of businesses reporting a decline in revenue. This figure rose to 83% in the industrial sector. Among exporting businesses, 29.4% reported missing deadlines, incurring penalties, or losing clients. In response, 8.3% of businesses turned to subcontracting or imports to mitigate the impact of the outages.

The survey also found that 30.5% of businesses experienced an increase in input costs, although price hikes for goods sold were relatively rare. The IACE estimated that the direct loss of value added due to business interruptions caused by power outages was $1.269 billion. The manufacturing industry was the hardest hit, with losses of $671.5 million, followed by market services ($316.1 million) and commerce ($282.1 million).
