The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is continuing its support for Tunisia in two key areas related to international economic shifts: e-commerce and climate finance. According to Ramzi Louati, Acting Charge d'Affaires of Tunisia's mission to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, this cooperation aims to enhance technical collaboration between Tunisia and UNCTAD on various international economic issues.
UNCTAD is assisting Tunisia's Ministry of Trade and Export Development in preparing a national e-commerce strategy. Initial planning meetings took place from March 31 to April 2, 2026, to identify strategic priorities for the Tunisian government in this field. This support is part of UNCTAD's activities for African countries, covered in its annual report for the period from May 2025 to April 2026.
The support provided by UNCTAD to Tunisia is aligned with the African Union's Agenda 2063. UNCTAD's activities focus on four main areas: inclusive growth and sustainable development, regional integration, human-centered development with a focus on women and youth, and integration into the global economy.
