On October 23, 2026, the first regional meeting of poetic creativity for middle and high school students was held at the regional branch for training and developing competencies in Qibili, Tunisia. The event saw the participation of 15 students. According to Mohamed Hedi Ben Mansour, head of the cultural, sports, and social activities department at the regional education office, the meeting aimed to encourage students to participate in literary creativity, particularly in poetry writing.

The meeting was organized by the general administration of middle and high school education to promote students' involvement in literary activities. Ben Mansour stated that two students, one from middle school and one from high school, will be selected to represent their respective educational delegations at the national meeting. The national event is scheduled to take place in Gabès on October 30-31, 2026.

Despite the short period since the start of the academic year and the subsequent launch of cultural club activities, participants' contributions to the meeting were considered satisfactory. The event aimed to facilitate students' interactions, exchange of knowledge and creative works, and help them become accustomed to presenting and reciting in front of a committee of specialized teachers.

The poetry and literature field in cultural activities is considered a broad area where students can express their creativity and develop their writing skills. Ben Mansour praised the significant efforts made by teachers and educators in supporting students in cultural clubs to protect them from risky behaviors, such as addiction to drugs or digital addiction.

The meeting's committee consisted of experts in poetry, including Professor and poet Fadel Ben Ibrahim and Professor, poet, and novelist Nabila Ahmed. The event demonstrated the importance of poetry and literature in students' lives and encouraged them to explore their creative potential.

The regional meeting in Qibili sets the stage for the national event, which will bring together students from across Tunisia to showcase their poetic talents. This initiative highlights the significance of promoting literary creativity and providing opportunities for students to develop their skills.

By organizing such events, Tunisia's education authorities aim to foster a culture of creativity, self-expression, and intellectual exploration among students. The meetings also underscore the role of poetry and literature in shaping young minds and encouraging them to engage with their cultural heritage.
