Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully repelled a coordinated multi-directional assault by ISWAP terrorists in Kukawa, Borno State. The attack, which occurred recently, was carried out by terrorists who launched a simultaneous attack from four different directions. However, the troops, supported by the Air Component, responded with superior firepower and coordinated tactical manoeuvres, forcing the terrorists to flee in disarray.

According to Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters, Joint Task Force, North-East, the terrorists attacked troops of 101 Special Forces Battalion. The troops, however, showed great resilience and combat readiness, fighting back and killing over 25 terrorists. So far, 14 bodies have been recovered, and further exploitation of the area is ongoing to recover additional weapons and track fleeing terrorists.

During the counter-offensive, troops also recovered six AK-47 rifles, as well as other arms and ammunition. The successful repulsion of the assault demonstrated the combat readiness and resilience of troops in the North-East theatre. The operation also underscored the effectiveness of air-ground coordination and joint operations in disrupting terrorist activities.
