The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded by Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has commenced grassroots mobilisation in Nasarawa State for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. Tompolo, represented at the launch in Lafia by Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, called for the consolidation of the administration's economic reforms. He noted that the reforms had brought challenges but were necessary for long-term economic outcomes.
Tompolo urged residents of Nasarawa State to support Tinubu for another four-year term, arguing that the administration needed more time to consolidate its policies. He stated that reforms require continuity, as their full benefits cannot be realised within a single four-year term. According to Tompolo, several ongoing road construction projects observed during his delegation's visit to Nasarawa demonstrated the impact of the administration's policies.
The administration's local government autonomy policy and increased financial resources available to state governments were also linked to the reforms by Tompolo. He said these developments had enabled governors to pay salaries and pensions and undertake major projects. The absence of petrol queues and increased investment activity were cited as further evidence of the administration's policy successes.
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, commended the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for its support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Sule stated that the state had benefited from reforms introduced by the federal government, including clearing outstanding gratuities accumulated since its creation in 1996 and 2012.
Governor Sule disclosed that the state had executed over N100 billion worth of capital projects without borrowing from commercial banks. He attributed this development to the federal government's economic reforms, which had improved the state's investment environment and encouraged investors to consider Nasarawa for new projects.
Proposed investments in Nasarawa State include a 6,000-metric-tonne lithium processing plant, housing projects, and industrialisation initiatives. The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, said Tompolo had mandated the organisation to mobilise voters across Nasarawa.
Governor Sule thanked the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for providing vehicles and financial support for its grassroots mobilisation, demonstrating commitment beyond verbal support for the President.
