The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, led by Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has donated campaign vehicles and mobilisation equipment to its structures in Yobe and Taraba states. This initiative aims to drive grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election. The movement launched its mobilisation campaign in Damaturu and Jalingo, with the donated vehicles set to be deployed for door-to-door, ward-to-ward, and community-level campaigns.
Tompolo, represented by Kester Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, stated that Tinubu's economic reforms were yielding results but required more time to consolidate. He noted that the reforms had increased resources available to state governments, enabling them to undertake more projects and meet their obligations to workers. Tinubu's policies have been beneficial, allowing governors to execute projects and pay salaries and pensions.
In Damaturu, Yobe State, Tompolo likened the reforms to road rehabilitation, saying that although the process could be difficult, the benefits would become evident once completed. He cited local government autonomy and improved revenue to states as visible gains, urging Nigerians to allow the administration more time to consolidate the reforms. Tompolo emphasised that continuity was necessary for the reforms to mature.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement donated 25 campaign vehicles, generators, and electronic speakers in Taraba. Tompolo urged residents to support Tinubu for another term, stressing that continuity would ensure workers continued to receive their salaries and provide Governor Agbu Kefas with opportunities to develop the state. He attributed the reduction in fuel queues and disruptions to university education to the administration.
Tompolo acknowledged that economic reforms inevitably came with challenges but emphasised that every policy needed time to consolidate and show dividends. He stated that the movement's goal was to ensure the continuation of Tinubu's policies, which have positively impacted the states. The donations aim to boost grassroots support for Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
Governor Buni and Governor Kefas declared 100% support for President Tinubu's re-election. The governors' endorsement is expected to galvanise support for Tinubu in Yobe and Taraba states. The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement's efforts aim to mobilise grassroots support for the president's re-election bid.
