The Tobby Emmanuel Foundation (TEF) has awarded ₦5 million education scholarships each to four beneficiaries under its 2026 Higher Institution Scholarship Scheme (H.I.S.). This initiative aims to provide meaningful educational opportunities for young people from financially-disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly orphans, children of single parents, and children from very low-income families. The scholarships will support each beneficiary throughout their respective five-year courses in higher institutions.
The four higher institution beneficiaries will receive educational support amounting to ₦5 million each over the duration of their five-year programmes. This represents a major investment in their academic development and future aspirations. In addition to the higher institution scholarships, the Foundation also awarded 53 tuition-free Primary and Secondary School scholarships to children from vulnerable backgrounds.
The beneficiaries of the primary and secondary school scholarships have been admitted into schools established by the Tobby Emmanuel Foundation. These schools include Strong Foundation Nursery & Primary School, Dreamers’ College, Abeokuta, and Deborah Girls’ College, Abeokuta. These educational institutions were established to provide accessible education for children who might otherwise face significant barriers to schooling.
The scholarship intervention reflects the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that a child’s family circumstances do not become a permanent barrier to quality education. Through these programmes, TEF continues to support students not only with access to school but also with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to pursue their dreams.
