All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the joint ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the most formidable political combination in Nigeria's democratic history. Yilwatda made this statement at the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Campaign Rally held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He emphasized that President Tinubu deserves a second term in office to consolidate his administration's bold economic reforms and transformative infrastructure projects.
According to Yilwatda, the APC presidential ticket embodies seasoned political experience, vision, and tested courage needed to guide the nation toward lasting economic recovery. He highlighted President Tinubu's capacity to take difficult decisions in the national interest and his resolute pursuit of Nigeria's transformation. Yilwatda noted that President Tinubu has demonstrated fearlessness, courage, and determination to confront the country's challenges.
The APC National Chairman pointed out that President Tinubu inherited severe fiscal constraints, including an unsustainable fuel subsidy regime and mounting financial obligations. He defended key policy shifts, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange window, as imperative measures to rescue the national economy from structural decay. Yilwatda acknowledged the economic friction experienced by Nigerian households and businesses following these policy adjustments.
However, Yilwatda assured the public that targeted social interventions, stabilization measures, and strategic infrastructure programs are actively mitigating the impact. He highlighted major highway corridors and superhighway projects currently underway across the country as catalysts for long-term industrialization, regional integration, and trade expansion. According to Yilwatda, President Tinubu understands that development cannot happen without infrastructure.
Yilwatda praised the brains behind the Rivers State cross-party consensus behind President Tinubu's administration, including Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike. He hailed their decision to prioritize national interest and continuity over partisan divides. Yilwatda expressed confidence that Rivers State would return overwhelming votes for the APC in the upcoming elections.
The APC National Chairman stated that the coalition and the people of Rivers State have decided to work together for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027. He attributed this to the state's mobilization capacity, led by Governor Fubara, Minister Wike, and other political leaders and stakeholders. Yilwatda is confident that Rivers State will deliver maximum votes for President Tinubu.
Yilwatda's comments reflect the APC's confidence in the Tinubu-Shettima ticket. The party is banking on the president's economic reforms and infrastructure projects to secure re-election. With the 2027 elections approaching, political stakeholders are watching closely to see how the APC's strategy unfolds.
