The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has attributed the growing political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Federal Government's economic reforms and infrastructure projects. Guwor made this statement on Sunday in Kano on behalf of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo. He cited the movement of governors into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a reflection of increasing confidence in the Tinubu administration.
According to Guwor, 31 state governors are currently members of the APC, indicating the party's expanding political reach. He identified the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, and ongoing infrastructure projects as major policies of the Tinubu administration. These policies have contributed to the growing support for President Tinubu. The APC's increasing popularity is evident in the number of governors who have joined the party.
Guwor highlighted projects in Kano State, including the rail project and the revamp of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, as examples of infrastructure development under the Federal Government. He stated that come January 16, the people of Nigeria will speak in a loud voice in supporting Mr. President to return and continue his reform.
On the mobilisation strategy, Guwor said the Door-to-Door movement planned to establish chapters across the northern and southern parts of the country. Coordinators and ambassadors would be positioned at ward and polling-unit levels to engage directly with residents and explain the administration's policies and programmes. The movement aims to mobilise grassroots support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Guwor added that the movement was targeting broad support for Tinubu across the country, although he did not give specific projections for individual states. He highlighted the role of young Nigerians in the mobilisation exercise, noting that the movement's national coordinator is a young person and former student union leader. Youth participation would remain an important component of the movement as it expands its structures and grassroots engagement.
