President of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Oladele, has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He made this appeal during the ongoing Pastors’ Conference of the CAC at Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, where over 9,000 pastors, apostles, and church leaders gathered. Oladele acknowledged the current economic hardship in Nigeria but urged citizens to endure the pain temporarily.
According to Oladele, leadership requires difficult decisions that may initially impose hardship on the people. He noted that the outcome of such decisions should be measured by whether they improve the welfare and living conditions of the people. The cleric emphasized that some economic reforms may be painful in the short term but could produce positive results in the long run. He expressed confidence that with more time, the Tinubu administration’s policies will yield positive results.
The CAC president also spoke on the complexity of decisions concerning fuel subsidy removal. He stated that these decisions are better understood by those responsible for running the government. Oladele urged politicians and political leaders to place the welfare of Nigerians above personal and political interests. He emphasized that political leadership should not be reduced to personal enrichment or self-interest but directed towards improving citizens’ lives.
Oladele advised political leaders to draw lessons from the Bible in carrying out their responsibilities. He noted that the scriptures condemn corruption, self-aggrandizement, and other practices that undermine good governance. The cleric urged politicians to return to the Bible and allow its principles to guide their decisions and actions. He emphasized that God teaches leaders how to rule in righteousness and integrity.
The annual conference featured biblical teachings, prayers, and discussions on Christian leadership, evangelism, moral values, and the role of the church in national development. Oladele announced that the CAC has about 14,000 ordained apostles, with the 2026 conference attracting over 9,000 participants. He described the turnout as significant, noting that some ordained apostles and church leaders could not attend due to various commitments.
Oladele also emphasized that differences in political opinions should not be interpreted as a division within the Christian faith. He noted that people were created with different perspectives and convictions. The cleric urged the Christian community to respect legitimate differences of opinion while allowing God’s will to prevail. He expressed confidence that God’s will shall come to pass despite differences in opinions.
The CAC president described the Bible as God’s message to humanity, saying its teachings remain relevant to the challenges confronting individuals and society. He pleaded with Christians to return to the teachings of the Bible and allow its principles to guide their decisions, relationships, and conduct in society. The conference aimed to deepen the understanding of the Bible among pastors and other church leaders and strengthen their commitment to Christian service.
