The District Chief Executive for Tatale-Sanguli, Hon. Mary Tagba, has called for immediate government assistance to tackle pressing staffing and logistical issues hindering the district's development. During a courtesy visit by Prof. Lord Kwaku Mensah, Head of the Local Government Service, Hon. Tagba emphasized that sufficient human resources, reliable transportation, and essential office equipment are vital for effective local governance and accelerated development.

Tatale-Sanguli, a border district in Ghana's Northern Region, faces unique challenges due to its geographical location and size. Hon. Tagba highlighted that the district's significant agricultural potential is hampered by inadequate resources, which limit the delivery of public services to residents. The DCE stressed that addressing these challenges is crucial for strengthening grassroots governance and improving service delivery.

Staffing shortages and logistical constraints are major concerns in Tatale-Sanguli. The district faces vacant positions, placing additional pressure on available officers. Furthermore, there are shortages of essential office equipment, including computers, printers, and furniture, affecting departmental work. The Assembly's vehicles are in poor condition, frequently breaking down and disrupting monitoring exercises, revenue mobilisation, and emergency response.

The lack of motorbikes for field officers is another pressing challenge, hindering personnel in agriculture, health, planning, social welfare, and environmental health from reaching remote communities. This situation undermines field activities and limits the extension of essential services to residents. Hon. Tagba emphasized that addressing these needs is vital for improving staff performance and ensuring public services reach communities effectively.

To address these challenges, Hon. Tagba made three key requests to Prof. Mensah. She appealed for the posting of additional staff to the district, support for at least one or two pickup vehicles, and motorbikes for field officers. Additionally, she requested essential logistical supplies for departments. The DCE expressed confidence that addressing these needs would enhance staff performance and strengthen the Assembly's ability to monitor development projects.

Despite the challenges, Hon. Tagba reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the government's Reset Agenda in Tatale-Sanguli. She stressed that the Assembly remains dedicated to improving residents' welfare but requires necessary institutional resources to translate development plans into tangible results. The appeal highlights the capacity of district assemblies to drive local development, particularly in rural and border communities.

The situation in Tatale-Sanguli underscores the importance of addressing constraints to strengthen grassroots governance and improve service delivery. Hon. Tagba expressed appreciation to Prof. Mensah for the visit and reaffirmed the Assembly's determination to work towards sustainable development for the people of Tatale-Sanguli. The district's development prospects depend on addressing these pressing challenges and ensuring that public services reach communities effectively.
