The Tanzania Tourist Board, in collaboration with the Tanzania Embassy in India, has welcomed 13 tourism agents from India for a familiarization trip aimed at promoting Tanzania as a tourist destination. The trip, which runs from September 28 to October 4, 2026, will give the agents an opportunity to experience Tanzania's tourism attractions firsthand. This visit is part of the Tanzania Tourist Board's ongoing strategy to expand the Indian tourism market.

The Indian tourism agents, led by Himanshu Patil, President and Chairman of the Association of Tour Operators in India, will visit several major tourist destinations, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park, and Zanzibar. During their stay, they will engage with key stakeholders in the sector and establish partnerships with Tanzanian tourism stakeholders. The engagements aim to facilitate efforts to attract more tourists from India to Tanzania.

Before beginning their tour, the agents held business-to-business meetings with Tanzanian tour operators. The meetings were aimed at establishing direct business relationships and identifying new opportunities to increase tourist arrivals from the Indian market. This initiative is expected to contribute to the growth of Tanzania's tourism sector and economy.

Tanzania's Ambassador to India, Anisa Mbega, who is accompanying the delegation, said the embassy would continue working with various tourism stakeholders in India to promote Tanzania's attractions. She emphasized that the agents' visit was part of the embassy's efforts to promote Tanzania's tourism attractions in the Indian market through travel and tourism agents.
